Scaling a Multi‑BrandDesign System atCarlsberg

Overview

At Carlsberg Group, I worked on Malty, a global design system created to unify digital products across multiple brands and markets. Teams were operating with fragmented UI patterns, inconsistent components and duplicated effort. The opportunity was to establish a scalable foundation that aligned design and engineering, reduced redundancy and enabled faster, more consistent product delivery.

Role

I led the definition of the system structure, component logic and governance model, working closely with designers and developers across markets. From tokens and core components to documentation and contribution workflows, I drove the creation of a practical system that teams could adopt and evolve. The goal was not to build a library of assets, but to establish a shared language that scaled consistently across brands and platforms.
